About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Medical Command, Activity Operations and Readiness Security, at Fort Stewart, Georgia.

Duties

Serves as assistant to the Security Manager and performs tasks in support of established security programs. Serves under the supervision of the Activity's Security Manager. Assists the Security Manager in administering the Personnel, Physical, Information, AT/FP and other Security Programs. Utilizes knowledge of the DOD/DA Personnel Security Investigation requirements to provide assistance in administering the activity's personnel security program.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • TDY is up to 5% of the time.

Specialized experience is defined as experience in: Reviewing security clearance applications on all personnel for accuracy, completion, and validity of required information; assisting with physical security inspections, assessments, and surveys for local activities; and, initiating/preparing required reports, to include Serious Incident Reports, for compiling information, statistical reports, and related security data for crime/law enforcement reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-08 or GG/GS-07 level).
