Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As an Aging Service Program Specialist, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:
Assisting with liaison role with Native Tribes and Tribal Organizations, other Federal agencies, and national organizations. Responsible for providing the Administration on Aging (AoA) and Administration for Community Living (ACL) perspective in discussions with these organizations.
Assisting in identifying policy issues and making recommendations to the Office Director for modifying policies that impact community-based services to meet the needs of Native elders.
Serving as project officer for grants and contracts in assigned area, responsible for, monitoring of grantee and contractor including assisting grantees to fulfill grant reporting requirements.
Providing assistance to other Federal agencies, private agencies and individuals seeking information about older Americans, including Native American elders.
Duties as shown are developmental in nature since position is being filled below the full performance level (GS-13).

Qualifications
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Basic Qualifications: You must meet one of the items listed below:
Possess a 4-year bachelor's or higher degree in behavioral or social science from an accredited college or university; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (Must provide transcripts)
Possess a combination of education and experience -- that provided you with the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (Must provide transcripts)
Possess four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
Minimum Qualifications: In addition to meeting at least one of the basic requirements above, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-9 level or higher in the Federal service that includes at least two (2) of the following:
Serving as a project officer for tribal grants.
Assisting with monitoring grantee performance and grant activity.
Developing and maintaining relationships with grantees to promote the exchange of information, including answering questions about best practices, and supporting the aging community.

Education: Successful completion of at least three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. (Must provide transcripts)
