Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Intelligence, National Border Security Intelligence Center (NBSIC)-Southern Border Intelligence Center (SBIC), located in the following locations: Laredo, TX San Diego, CA This announcement will be open for 5 days business days OR until the first 75 applications have been received, whichever happens first.

Duties

In this position you will be director of a division that promotes the objectives of the Office, and serves as a technical expert in her/his area(s) of expertise and responsibility. This is a headquarters-based position. This position starts at a salary of $136,908.00 (GS-15, Step 1) to $177,978.00 (GS-15, Step 10) with promotion potential to $177,978 (GS-15 Step 10). Major duties include: Directing and managing subordinate supervisory staff who are directly engaged in providing intelligence and analysis, operational support, and program management in service of the CBP intelligence enterprise. Exercising supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Managing, directing, and planning work to be accomplished by Deputy Division Director and subordinate Branches. Coordinating all aspects of Division participation in Agency, Departmental, federal, international, and intelligence community engagements. Directing one or multiple pieces of the intelligence cycle for CBP: planning and directing, collecting, processing, analysis and production, and dissemination. Salary: Salary listed reflects the rest of U.S. scale and, if applicable, will be adjusted to meet the locality pay or cost of living expenses of the duty location upon selection.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Managing a subordinate supervisory staff who are directly engaged in providing critical strategic intelligence products on current and emerging border security threat matters Developing and implementing standard operating procedures particular to the strategic intelligence mission. Advising and providing counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Reviewing existing intelligence programs policies and procedures to determine whether they meet the requirements of current or newly implemented situations. Coordinating in and participating in agency, departmental, federal, international, and in intelligence community.
