THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE TECHNICIAN (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T5429000 and is part of the NC ASO, National Guard (JFHQNC-ASO -Occupational Health/ Manning Document 1228-411).

Duties

As an INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE TECHNICIAN, GS-0640-9, you will plan, schedule, execute, manage and administer the State/territory/or district ARNG Industrial Hygiene Program; perform special surveys of facilities and shops when new equipment is installed or work procedures change; interpret Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) for employees, shop supervisors, and OHN; assist the OHN with the management of the state Army National Guard (ARNG) Respiratory Protection Program; conduct noise surveys before commencement of new operations or work processes.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: Experience, education, or training which provided a basic knowledge of principles and practices related to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Department of the Army (DA), Department of Defense (DOD) and NGB regulations, standards, and guidance as it relates to Industrial Hygiene programs. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 1 year at the next lower level or equivalent experience, education, or training which provided a working knowledge of missions, organizations, programs and requirements of state medical, occupational health, or industrial hygiene programs. Experience developing and implementing various policies and procedures used in the state medical, occupational health, or industrial hygiene programs. Experience involving various administrative areas such as budget, personnel and public relations within a medical activity.

Education
