Instructs aerobic/group exercise classes of various natures including YOGA in accordance with guidelines set by American Council on Exercise (ACE), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), Aerobic Fitness Association of America (AFAA) or another nationally recognized organization. Designs and conducts classes that reflect current professional standards.

Duties

Ensures safety regulations are enforced. Assists in the promotion of classes, which includes, but is not limited to answering patrons general questions and providing demonstrations. May open and close facility ensuring proper security and fire check of building upon completion of class. Completes required records and reports as directed. Irregular working hours will be required to include early shift, late shift, evenings, weekends and holidays. Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Must pass all applicable records and background check.
• Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
• 200 Hours Yoga Certification
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Qualifications

Applicants are encouraged to be clear and specific when describing their experience level and KSAs. A qualified candidate possess the following: Must have standard first aid and CPR certificate and practical knowledge of basic anatomy, kinesiology, and exercise science. Be able to explain heart rate training and perceived exertion to patrons to ensure their compliance with current cardiovascular training methods and charts. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs without assistance. Ability to handle emergencies. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing in English

Education

• Must have education and training from established professional organization such as American College of Sports Medicine, American Council on Exercise, and/or Aerobic Fitness Association of America or another nationally recognized or educational institution.
• Certification must be current and maintained.
