Program Support Assistant provides administrative, clerical, reproduction, graphical and audiovisual support to Medical Media Service. Coordinates with local and national agencies to establish a positive framework for conducting business. Accepts and supports the guiding principles of this Miami VA Healthcare System.
Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:
Receives incoming work for the Service, routes materials and notifies requester when work is completed.
Fund Control Point Clerk inventory control, accounting, and bookkeeping.
Processor owner for managing and processing contracts.
Enters requests electronically in LEAF work order database.
Filing, scheduling, telephone, and mail handling, preparation of correspondence, reports, and records.
Prepares supply requests, receives and accounts for supplies and equipment.
Assists in acquiring, maintain and lending audiovisual equipment including projectors, DVD players.
Prepares audiovisual equipment for meetings and special events inside and outside the medical center.
Teaches borrowers how to operate the equipment.
Minimally assists service technical staff in photographic activities.
Assists inpatient Veterans with troubleshooting cable television outages and technical problems.
Primary timekeeper for the Service and ensures service's timecards are accurately maintained.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Physical Requirements: The work requires manual dexterity, hand and eye coordination, and the ability to accurately perceive and sense color hues. The employee, alone and assisted will be required to lift and transport delicate audiovisual equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. Some physical activity is necessary in the management of the audiovisual equipment being checked out through this Service.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
GS-05 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the federal service); Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Specialized Experience Includes: Type final copy ready brochures, letters, memos, policies, charts, graphs. Timekeeping, recordkeeping, inventory control, work schedules, work orders, ordering equipment and supplies. Prepares travel and training documents, statistical data. Basic knowledge of illustration and photography, and audiovisual equipment. Schedule meetings and appointments, set up conference room, initiates replies to routine correspondence, receives incoming telephone calls and mail. OR,
Education: To qualify based on education for GS-04 grade level you must have 4 years above high school education.
Combination of Experience & Education: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an appropriate combination of specialized experience and education.
