This position is located in the Physical Therapy Department at the Clinton Indian Hospital, Clinton, OK, providing a wide variety of physical therapy services for patients with a wide variety of complex pathologies such as burns, strokes, amputees, spinal cord injuries, micro muscular and musculoskeletal, and other medical, surgical, and orthopedic pathologies. The position reports to the Supervisory Physical Therapist.
Duties
Conduct physical therapeutic activities for various physical and medical problems in order to meet the treatment needs of patients.
Plan, modify, adapt, and monitor methods and techniques as needed for patient needs and treatment goals.
Provide instruction to inpatients and out patients and their families in specific physical therapy programs.
Provide direct patient care and evaluates patients using standardized tests, customized measurement protocol, and clinical observation.
Prepare and recommend estimates of supplies and equipment needed for planned programs.
Qualifications

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):In order to qualify for this position, your application must demonstrate that you meet both of the following Basic Requirements:
1 - Education:
A graduate or higher level degree that includes a physical therapy curriculum approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), or a professional accrediting organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained, AND completion of the clinical requirements prescribed by the school.
OR
Current Federal Employees assigned to positions in the GS-0633 occupational series as of September 01, 2017 will be considered to have met the basic requirements for the position occupied.
AND
2 - Licensure:
Applicants must possess a current, active, full and unrestricted license or registration as a Physical Therapist from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; and must have passed the National Physical Therapy Examination administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT).
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-11:
At least one (1) year of specialized experience obtained in either the private or public sector equivalent to the GS-09 grade level performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Conducting patient evaluations for physical therapy; exercising modalities appropriate to carrying out the patient plan of care. Providing quality care by assessing, interpreting, and evaluating test results; determining physical therapy treatment plans and administering physical therapy treatments; instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; and conducting in-service training with Physical Therapy staff.
OR
Completion of three (3) years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
OR
Completion of an approved graduate level curriculum AND completion of additional graduate training in a specialized field of clinical practice designed to assure professional competence to practice in the specialty meet the requirements for GS-11. OR
A combination of graduate education and specialized experience that when combined, fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for GS-11 grade level.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
