The purpose of this position is to manage programs for Infection Control and Occupational Health. Position reports to Chief Nurse Executive.
Duties
Develop,implement and evaluate the Infection Control Program including surveillance, infection prevention, TB prevention and monitoring and exposure plan
Provide Infection control education to all staff
Serves as consultant to administrative and medical professionals, and allied health on matters of infection prevention and control
Develop, administer and evaluate the Occupation Health Program assuring that all regulatory requirements are met
Maintains employee health folder with immunization status, exposure and employment related health information
Develops education plans for the facility and assists the safety officer with any required ergonomic issues
Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Must submit copy of transcript. Applications will be considered incomplete without proof.
Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools. Applications will be considered incomplete without proof.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.

Licensure: For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, you must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Must submit copy of nursing license that includes an expiration date. Applications will be considered incomplete without proof.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector and possession of a diploma, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or master's degree from a professional nursing educational program. performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Develop policies and procedures for infection control, employee health, and patient safety and ensure compliance with accreditation requirements. Understand and present health and educational resources. Manage employee health records, collect data and prepare reports for Quality Improvement and Clinical Committees

Successful completion of a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field.performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
