This position is located in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The mission of the United States Attorney's Office, District of Hawaii, is to investigate and prosecute federal crimes, to defend the interests of the United States in civil litigation, and to pursue affirmative civil litigation in a manner that is just and consistent with the priorities established by the Attorney General of the United States.
Duties
The District of Hawaii is seeking applications from experienced attorneys for a vacancy in the Criminal Division. In the Criminal Division, Assistant United States Attorneys handle a wide variety of complex cases including drug trafficking, money-laundering, white collar crime, organized crime, computer-related crime, violent crime, and appellate litigation.
The attorney must be devoted to justice, excellence and representing the public. The attorney must work well both independently and as part of a team, and must be willing to assist other attorneys as needed.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Residency Requirements:Assistant United States Attorneys generally must reside in the district to which he or she is appointed or within 25 miles thereof. See 28 U.S.C. 545 for district-specific information.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a J.D. Degree, be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction), and have at least 1* year post-J.D. legal or other relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Applicants should possess superior oral and written communication skills, legal research skills, excellent analytical ability, good judgment, courtroom skills, appellate litigation experience, and a demonstrated capacity to function with minimal guidance in a highly demanding environment. In addition, applicants must exhibit the ability to work in a supportive and professional manner with other attorneys, support staff and client agencies.
