Duties

You will serve as a Crane Operator in the Waterfront Crane Division of the Weapons Department (SPK34) at the STRATEGIC WEAPONS FACILITY ATLANTIC (SWFLANT) FIELD ACTIVITY OF STRATEGIC SYSTEMS PROGRAMS. You will be responsible for operating various explosive handling wharf cranes to move, remove, and position various Strategic Weapon System related items and other submarine items to and from the various class of US/UK submarines. You will be responsible for conducting maintenance and certification/recertification on ballast assemblies and associated support equipment at the Ballast Can Facility (BCF) to include touch up sanding, painting, and labeling. You will be responsible to utilize the various mobile cranes to load/unload ballast assemblies to/from various ballast assembly transportation fixtures.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to qualify for inclusion into the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP).
