You will serve as an INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST managing the Ordnance Inventory System (OIS) in the Ordnance Work Center of NAV SCHOOL EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE DISPOSAL.

Duties

You will requisition items to replenish and maintain stocks at prescribed levels. You will maintain ordnance accounting databases (e.g., Ordnance Information System [OIS] database or similar) to ensure accountability of all ammunition. You will escort or drive motor vehicles to transport individuals to specified locations and provide personal protection. You will maintain weapons qualifications (e.g., meet qualification for pistols, rifle, or shotguns) to be able to safely carry and use weapons for security operations.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • The incumbent must obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazardous Materials and Airbrake Endorsement.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Providing inventory control of Ammunition and Explosives (A&E) received and issued to commercial and contracted carriers to ensure accountability is maintained; 2) Managing and controlling stock level of ordnance and demolition materials on hand; and 3) Directing the physical count of ordnance in storage at the stock point for the purpose of verifying the balance reflected in the Ordnance Information System Program.
