You will serve as a SECURITY OFFICER in the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of the Navy (DUSN), for Intelligence and Security (I&S) Security Directorat.
Duties
You will serve as the primary advisory to the Deputy Under Secretary of the Navy Intelligence and Security, Senior Director?on requirements and strategic priorities for the security activities for Department of Navy.
You will coordinate with senior officials from the offices of the General Counsel of the Navy, the Naval Inspector General (NAVIG), and the Naval Audit Service involved in security oversight activities.
You will Serve as the DONs subject matter expert on the adequacy and effectiveness of security measures governing personnel, information, and physical security policies worldwide.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing worldwide DON security policy.
You will direct the management of the Security Directorate.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
- You may be expected to travel for this position (15%)
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Manage tasker related to Security Enterprise or other Security agencies involved in security activities impacting the command or organization.
Coordinate with senior officials on security policies both orally and written.
Experience communicating effectively in writing to higher level officials at the Headquarters level on security programs.
This position has been designated a DoD Security Professional Educational Development (SPeD) position. The DoD Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) certification is required within 24 months of assuming the position and must be maintained through the length of appointment
