You will serve as the Senior Computer Scientist, Cloud Services Division (N36), N3 Operations Department, Hopper Global Communications Center possessing subject matter expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Development Security Operations, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI-CD) in support of cloud service enhancements and capability deployments, primarily with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure cloud service providers. This position is located in Suitland, MD.

Duties

You will serve as the Cloud Services DevSecOps/CI-CD subject matter expert (SME) partnering with cloud tenants and software development teams in facilitating technical and operational cloud solutions. You will be responsible for designing/leading cloud DevSecOps and CI-CD standards, best-practices and mission-enabling capabilities in direct support of meeting ODNI, DoD, U.S. Navy and NAVINTEL cloud strategy, directives and security requirements. You will provide your expertise and knowledge to others across Hopper, NIA, and mission partner elements in establishing and managing cloud software certification, deployment, support, monitoring and retirement policies, processes and procedures. You will contribute technical documentation and subject matter expertise to support cybersecurity authorization and assessment processes, including the National Institute for Science and Technology Risk Management Framework security process.

  • This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period requirement.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position has been designated as a Cyber IT/CSWF position in specialty area 632.
  • Incumbent must meet qualification requirements of the specialty area assigned as delineated in Appendix 4 of SECNAV M-5239.2.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as the following: 1) Designing and deploying DevSecOps/CI-CD enabled solutions in a cloud environment; 2) Partnering with cloud tenants and software development teams in support of cloud-based solutions; 3) Providing expertise to DoD and Intelligence organizations in support of cloud-enabling mission impactful solutions; 4) Supporting cybersecurity authorization and assessment processes, including the National Institute for Science and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF) security process. Education

Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
