Duty Location: Clark County, Nevada
Duties
The duties of the full performance level Administrative Support Assistant (OA) include the following:
Assists in coordinating various staff meetings and serves as recorder.
Provides advice and guidance in the interpretation and application of administrative methods and procedures.
Performs timekeeping as the primary electronic (E-TAS) timekeeper for assigned organizations.
Plans itineraries and schedules travel for assigned organizations.
Performs a variety of general office work to include answering telephones, takes/delivers messages, files, makes photocopies, maps, and other available data.
Qualifications
To be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume.
GS-05: Your resume must reflect one year of full time experience providing 3 or more of the following office support services: (1) preparing correspondence (2) serving as a timekeeper, (3) buying with a purchase card or allocating purchases using a database system, (4) making travel arrangements for others, (5) setting up meetings using an electronic calendar, (6) tracking/keeping staff informed of suspense dates, (7) researching/providing answers to customer inquiries. OR Bachelor's degree or 4 years of successfully completed education above high school from an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR a combination of successfully completed post-high school education (in excess of the first 60 semester hours) and specialized experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college. or university.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Selective Placement Factor: This position requires a current, typing 40wpm. Failure to provide proof of such license will cause you to be rated ineligible for this position.
You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements, including any selective placement factors if applicable, by 09/08/2023.
Education
This vacancy announcement allows substituting education for experience at the GS-05 level only. You must submit a copy of college transcript(s) (unofficial copy is acceptable) to support claimed education if substituting education for experience. Transcripts must include the name of the college or university and date the degree was conferred. A typed list of courses, grades, semester/quarter hours, GPA, etc. will not be accepted. Non-submission may result in being rated not-qualified for the position.
