You will serve as a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST within NAVY SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Duties

You will be responsible for effective material and inventory support for an activity involving the full range of support items. You will review report plans and schedules to determine material support requirements. You will develop activity plans that identify actions, responsibilities, and schedule that must be met to ensure that proper and timely support is provided. You will analyze the effectiveness of materials support and follow up with the responsible parties to assure that necessary actions are take,. You will identify and resolve difficult issues relative to material support. You will expedite the acquisition, movement of material, review/evaluate interim support measures and initiate corrective actions in conjunction with supply, procurement, maintenance, and/or other personnel.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-5) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following; Understanding and implementing supply procedures and takes action to implement supply operations and resolve supply problems. Utilizing available supply data sources to research technical data for items of supply, including such information as stock numbers, part numbers, unit of issue, nomenclature, etc. Developing, screening, or revising material requirements lists for assigned components and/or assemblies needed to support current and future productions schedules regarding equipment maintenance and special projects. Education

Education Substitution for Experience at the GS-07 Level:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector

OR have completed one full years of graduate level education leading to a master's degree
OR possess a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement
OR a combination of education and experience as described above that equates to one year of experience
