This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration at Gerald R Ford Presidential Library and Museum. The incumbent assists in planning, organizing, and directing the exhibit program and will perform a wide variety of research, creative, and technical assignments. The incumbent acts as technical leader in coordinating the work of museum staff, volunteers, and contractors in planning and operating the museum's schedule of changing exhibits.

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-11. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To be qualified for this position at the GS-11 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Using current techniques of exhibit design, development, and construction and in audiovisual and computer-based production to coordinate the design, fabrication, and installation of physical and virtual exhibits. AND
Performing original research to identify digital images and other materials to enhance exhibit development. AND
Providing oversight to the work of museum staff, volunteers, and contractors.
OR
You may substitute experience for education as follows: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
OR
You may qualify with a combination of education and experience. Only education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) of graduate education is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement.
Graduate Education: Major study -- illustrative design, commercial art, fine arts, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, or other fields related to the position.
To be qualified for this position at the GS-9 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes:

You may qualify with a combination of education and experience. Only education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (i.e., beyond the first year) of graduate education is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement.
Graduate Education: Major study -- illustrative design, commercial art, fine arts, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, or other fields related to the position.
