About the Position: Serve as a project engineer in charge of a highly complex project which involves new and specialized equipment, materials, and methods; present considerable site layout and foundation preparation problems; and extensive special purpose technical equipment installation and structural features requiring specially adapted construction methods and quality control techniques.

Duties

Serve as a project engineer and contracting officer's representative (COR) in charge of a highly complex construction project Responsible for thorough implementation of the government Quality Assurance (QA) Program, conducting QA/QC Coordination meetings. Review of quality control plans and procedures and assessments of contractor performance through regular field surveillance and daily documentation procedures. Obtain timely and cost-effective projects through proper contract administration in accordance with contract requirements and Resident Office policies and procedures Review and analyze proposals submitted by contractors, installation personnel, and agencies for changes to contract plans and specifications. Utilize the Resident Manager's System (RMS) to administer and manage assigned work. Review and recommend approval of contractors' construction progress schedule and other construction submittals. Review preliminary and final plans and specifications during stages of project preparation.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Temporary duty (TDY) travel is approximately 5%.
  • This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • Incumbent must have or be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • This position it an Army Acquisition Workforce position. The employee must meet the DoDI 5000.66 requirements applicable to the Career Category/Functional Area and the Career Level Certification.
