Duties

You will install repairs and determine necessary wiring and circuits for electric power. You will design, construct, install and repair electrical raceways and supports. You will determine proper size, measures, cuts, threads and bends and install rigid and thin wall conduits through the use of mechanical or hydraulic benders and pipe threading machines. You will install and repair electrical wiring, switches, outlets, panels, meters, light fixtures and switch boards. You will design and fabricate various electrical parts, using materials with the appropriate conducting, resistance or insulating properties. You will perform preventive maintenance inspections of various electrical circuits and equipment to insure proper and safe operating conditions.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • This work involves working from ladders, scaffolds and platforms which will require standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION performing the tasks of an Electrician: installing, repair and determining necessary wiring and circuits for electric power; Planning, designing, constructing, installing and repairing electrical raceways; Determining proper size, measures, cuts, threads, and bends and installing rigid and thin wall conduits; Installing and repairing transformers, electrical motors, electrical appliances, electrical furnaces, electric welders and electric generating equipment .
