This position is located at the Nevada Skies Youth Wellness Center in Wadsworth, Nevada. The purpose of this position is to assure that chemically dependent adolescents receive a wide range of health services involved in their treatment and rehabilitation through the provision of comprehensive nursing care. This position reports to the Supervisory Nurse.
Duties
Provides nursing assessment of clients upon their admission and reassessment according to policies and procedures.
Develops comprehensive, individual, nursing care plans.
Contributes to the development of treatment plans in collaboration with physician and other members of the treatment team.
Provides nursing care in accordance to nursing process.
Provides direct nursing care/nursing for clients such as dressing changes.
Administers medications as prescribed by consulting psychiatrist and other physicians according to the policies and procedures of the treatment center.
Responsible for safe management of medication and related supplies and documentation in accordance with the policies and procedures of the treatment center.
Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Note: Employees currently assigned to positions in this 0610 occupational series as of September 2017 will be considered to have met the basic requirements for the position occupied.
Education:
A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained, OR
Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
Licensure: For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GS-0610-09:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples of experience include: Provides nursing assessment of clients upon their admission and reassessment according to policies and procedures; develop comprehensive, individual, nursing care plans; development of treatment plans in collaboration with physicians; and other members of the treatment team; administers medications as prescribed by consulting psychiatrist and other physicians according to policy and procedures; responsible for safe management of medication and related supplies and documentation; provide client education related to medication, treatment, side effects, and therapeutic effects.
OR
Completed a master's degree from a professional nursing educational program. (Must provide evidence with your application documents if qualifying using this option).
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
