Duties

This position serves as a Human Performance Dietitian for Semper Fit.  The incumbent develops and implements nutrition and related health elements that promote readiness, resiliency and optimized performance of active-duty Marines, Sailors and their families, and DoD civilians.    Reports to the Human Performance Supervisor.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Purchase Card. Provides equipment purchasing suggestions and supporting data for new budget requirements.  Supports the Human Performance Supervisor in the planning and execution of the annual budget.  May be responsible for receiving payments and making deposits.  May be required to work with contract payments and renewals.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Must support other programs within Semper Fit when called upon such as the Hard Corps Race Series, Active Duty and Unit Recreation, Athletics, etc.  Maintain confidentially when collecting Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and follow HIPPA regulations.  Incumbent is required to obtain CPR within the first three months of employment.  Must possess a valid state driver’s license.WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include early mornings, evenings, holidays, and weekends.  This job requires mobility and flexibility working throughout the base at different locations and times.  This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance. Requires extended periods of coaching, standing, and walking. Adheres to safety regulations and standards.  Uses required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures.  Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Minimum four years of experience in the delivery of nutrition programs to athletes and/or police, fire or military personnel.  A degree in the field may be substituted for two years of experience.  A four-year degree in nutrition is required a master’s degree in nutrition, exercise physiology or a related field is preferred.  Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD), RD with a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) preferred.  Must have or obtain within two years a CSSD designation.  Will currently have or obtain within 1-year, National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).  All certifications and licenses must be kept current throughout employment.  Currently certified in CPR, First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogens or be certified within the first six months of employment. The individual should be competent in the areas of public speaking, professional writing, use of virtual platforms, social media platforms and computer literacy.
