About the Position: Serves as Transportation Assistant (OA/MVO) with the responsibility to assist assigned and supported units in the preparation, maintenance and execution of unit movements. This position is assigned to the Logistics Readiness Center, Fort Sill, OK.

Duties

Coordinate unit moves for all units located at Fort Sill. Provide technical advice to ensure proper preparation of equipment and hazardous, sensitive material is in compliance with regulatory guidelines. Track departure of units, personnel, supplies, equipment, etc. from home station to destination. Review and approve air load manifests prior to submission to the Airlift Control Element (ALCE). Utilize computer applications to prepare routine correspondence.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• The incumbent must possess or be able to obtain and maintain A valid Class A Commercial Driver?s License is required for the position.
• A qualified typist is required for the position.
• A successful completion of a pre entry on duty physical and yearly thereafter is required.

Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes participating in the coordination of unit mobilization and deployment plans; providing instruction on the proper procedures for loading and securing unit equipment, hazardous and sensitive cargo for movement; Working knowledge of air cargo and ground handling guidance; and utilizing applications software to prepare correspondence. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below.
