These positions are located in the Office of Investigations (OI) Field Offices in Region I (King of Prussia, PA) and Region III (Lisle, IL). The supervisors are the Special Agents in Charge, in each assigned office. The positions are Non-Bargaining Unit and require up to 50% travel.THESE POSITIONS OFFER 25% LAW ENFORCEMENT AVAILABILITY PAY. Travel expenses associated with interview and/or relocation expenses associated with job offer MAY be paid.
Duties
As a senior member of the Field Office, conducts investigations of allegations, accidents or incidents occurring at or related to NRC licensed facilities and activities and provides specialized advice and counsel to the Director and senior regional personnel on investigative matters. Utilizing the full range of investigative skills, plans, conducts and brings to a conclusion sensitive and complex investigations which may ultimately result in significant enforcement action and/or criminal prosecution. These activities require close familiarity with all phases of agency operations. Position occasionally requires exceptionally close and confidential relationship with the Director due to sensitivity of subject matter.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must also have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is progressively responsible criminal investigative experience indicating a thorough knowledge of investigative techniques, laws of evidence, and rules of criminal procedure.The ideal candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Extensive knowledge of criminal investigative techniques and procedures.
Describe specific experience, training, and developmental assignments which have provided you with knowledge of all aspects of criminal investigations, specifically addressing basis and advanced investigative techniques, technical investigative techniques, rules of evidence in criminal cases and rules of criminal, civil, regulatory and administrative procedures.
Demonstrated ability to collect, prepare, document, analyze and preserve physical and documentary evidence.
Describe specific experience, training and developmental assignments which demonstrate your skill in gathering facts through such methods as interview, observation, interrogation, and contacts with complainants/allegers or others, and analyzing records to establish facts or obtain evidence.
Demonstrated skill in planning and conducting investigations.
Describe specific experience, training, and developmental assignments which demonstrate your skill in handling investigations to conclusion concerning alleged or suspected violations of Federal laws and false statements, including those of relevance to NRC, such as false statements, substitution of counterfeit parts, whistle blower discrimination, records falsification, etc.
Knowledge of administrative policies, practices and procedures within the Federal Government and the NRC.
Describe specific experience, training, and developmental assignments which have provided you with the knowledge of the NRC/Federal Government regulations, policies and procedures, for administration and investigation activities, i.e., under the Atomic Energy Act of 1953, as amended, and/or the Energy reorganization Act of 1974, as amended. Ability to communicate effectively, in writing and in person, to develop written technical reports and findings and present technical findings and recommendations to varied audiences.

Education
There is no educational requirement for this position, however, a bachelor's degree or higher is desired.
