The Pipefitter performs duties at the journeyman WG-10 level that include the design, inspection, installation, modification, repair, and maintenance of all high purity medical gas systems, compressed air systems, natural gas systems, pressure steam systems, heating systems, drain waste and domestic water systems.
Duties
Work from written and oral instruction.
Work accurately in trade mathematics.
Layout work from blueprints and sketches.
Read and understand various types of gauges, scales and meters standard to the trade.
Operate torches, welders, reciprocating saws, hand and power drain clearing devices, pipe threading machines.
Perform maintenance on hand and power tools, such as drills, saws, pipe threaders.
Use ultrasonic and gas leak test equipment.
You will troubleshoot high-pressure piping systems and determines need for modification and/or repair to insure proper and safe operation.
You will determine the proper slant, slope, fall, or level of installation to provide for proper flow, drainage, and sanitary operating conditions.
You will utilize safety practices and procedures by following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
You will demonstrate the use of plumbing tools and equipment to make installations/repairs.
You will interpret blueprints, charts and sketches to install or modification high pressure piping systems.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 78:00 a.m. - 34:30 p.m.

Physical Requirements: The employee is required to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
Working Conditions: The work is done inside and outside, and is usually dirty, dusty, greasy, and smelly. There is exposure to uncomfortable heat conditions. The employee is exposed to the hazards associated with the work.
