Duties

If selected for this position, you will serve as a Litigation Support Specialist in the Automated Litigation Sectionresponsible for performing technical work to support the litigation needs of the United States Attorney's Office. Typical work assignments will include: Provide technical advice to litigation teams on legal automation requirements and systems capabilities to facilitate litigation decisions, trial preparation and trial presentation. Analyze litigation support requirements to develop or recommend appropriate strategies to meet litigation needs. Communicate and collaborate with case teams and outside entities on litigation support methodologies, litigation support technology, ESI and eDiscovery, software, associated processes and workflows. Serves as project manager for eDiscovery and litigation technology matters and trials. Provides training and guidance for litigation technology applications, workflows and processes. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
  • You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
  • If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
  • Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Qualifications

GS-12: To be eligible, you must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as working in a legal environment providing technical advice to litigation teams on legal automation requirements and systems capabilities; analyzing litigation support requirements to develop or recommend appropriate strategies to meet litigation needs; organizing and managing voluminous case specific discovery; using automated litigation support technology such as LAW Pre-Discovery, Concordance, IPRO Eclipse and Relativity and trial presentation systems such as Trial Director and Sanction or related programs. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
