About the Position: The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance. We provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training support.

Duties

Plan weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates. Establish deadliness and priorities on the basis of general work schedules and methods and policies established by higher levels of supervision. Select workers and assigns tasks to be performed. Explains work requirements, methods, and procedures; instructs subordinates in new procedures; and provides advice when problems arise. Determine equipment, supplies, and maintenance required. Develop performance standards, counsels employees on performance, and makes formal and informal performance appraisals Identify employee's training needs, and initiates recommendations to provide necessary training Assure that material is ordered and delivered to work sites so as not to delay work.

Requirements

  • This position requires a Moderate Risk background Investigation (MBI) public trust.
  • This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Testing Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R, Condition of Employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program.
  • A pre-employment physical is required.
  • This position requires a one-year supervisory probationary period.

Interpreting and explaining blueprints and other drawings to subordinates; Evaluating work operations; reviewing completed work and inspecting reports to assure that standards are met.I have experience planning, organizing work, providing technical assistance, and preparing reports without more than normal supervision. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Subject to hazards of burns from hot metal chips, dust in the lungs, cuts, bruises, injuries to hands from use of machine and hand tools, skin irritation from contact with coolants, lubricants and abrasive compounds. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside areas in well lighted, heated, and ventilated shop with concrete floors that are usually noisy and dirty, and exposed to dust from grinding, oil from machines, dirt, heat, noise, and fumes. There is a constant danger to the skin and eyes from flying metal chips and abrasive particles; skin irritation from contact with coolants, lubricants, and abrasive compounds; danger to fingers, hands, and other parts of the body from cutting tools, grinding wheels, rotating pieces, and moving parts of machines.
