This position is located at US Mint,Protection Directorate- DENVER POLICE. As a POLICE OFFICER (TRAINING OFFICER), you will be responsible for administering the United States Mint Police training programs.

Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the TR-10. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. Apply authoritative technical knowledge of a variety of specialty areas of law enforcement such as: officer safety and survival; communications and interviewing, criminal law; field tactics, detention and arrest; dynamics of terrorism; physical security; firearms; and, control tactics training. Coordinate law enforcement training with the National Training Coordinator. Prepare and submit monthly status reports to the National Training Coordinator detailing training and qualification status of law enforcement individuals located at the field site. Utilize a variety of presentation methods including but not limited to: lecture, instructor questions and student answers, instructor demonstration followed by student participation, instructor-directed class discussions, supervised practical application, and visual aids which are discussed and summarized. Implement all training programs and changes as directed by the National Training Coordinator.

You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the TR-10, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the TR-09/GS-09grade level or equivalent in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: -Administering and providing pertinent training to law enforcement personnel and; -Assists the Mint Police National Training Coordinator with liaison at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, and all Federal, State, and local police training programs. For the TR-09, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the TR-08/GS-07grade level or equivalent in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:-Providing training to law enforcement personnel. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the TR-10 you must have been at the TR-09/GS-09level for 52 weeks. For the TR-09 you must have been at the TR-08/GS-07level for 52 weeks. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: All employees must wear face masks while on MINT property when required by CDC and Federal guidelines. This position is designated as emergency essential. The incumbent must be ready and able to deploy as required in support of varied contingencies and under severe and austere conditions. The incumbent may deploy for brief periods during a contingency event. A one-year probationary period may be required. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency. Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer. If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so. Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9. Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S. Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel. May be required to File a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of appointment and annually from then on. May be required to Undergo an income tax verification. Shift Work: This facility operates on a 24 hour per day, three-shift basis, 5 days a week. Work schedules may vary and assignment to a specific shift cannot be guaranteed. The successful applicant must be available to work on all three shifts on a rotational basis. May be required to wear safety clothing and/or equipment required by the position. This may include equipment belt, body armor, riot gear, etc. All applicants tentatively selected for this testing designated position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and random drug testing while the position is occupied. Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory. You will be ineligible to occupy this position if at any time you have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, unless you received a pardon or your conviction was expunged or set aside [Lautenberg Amendment - 18 U.S.C. ? 922(g) (9)]. Possess a valid state motor vehicle operator's license upon appointment OR within 90days of appointment (as appropriate) and maintain a valid license while you occupy the position. Tattoos/Branding/Intentional Scarring- Full sleeve tattoos are permissible as long as they are not deemed offensive, racist or sexist. Visible tattoos, branding or intentional scarring, or body art on the head, face, neck or scalp are prohibited. Any visible tattoos that are offensive, extremist, indecent, racist or sexist are prohibited. Visible body piercings while on duty and/or in uniform, with the exception of agency approved earrings are prohibited. Complete or have previously completed training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA. * *Please see the Additional Information for continuation of Conditions of Employment.
