THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a FINANCIAL SERVICES TECHNICIAN TITLE 5 PERMANENT, Position Description Number T5132000 and is part of the NH ARNG USPFO, National Guard.
This vacancy is to gather applications that may or may not result in a referral or selection.
Duties
The purpose of this position is to provide analysis, validation, processing and correction of financial transactions and issues/problems involving the full range of financial services. Incumbent uses complete understanding of inter-related systems and processes across multiple functional areas and their interoperability to ensure the validity and accuracy of all disbursements, collections, and adjustments related to financial records.
Requirements
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Must obtain Security Clearance within 1 year of appointment.
- As a basis of continued Title 5 Excepted Service employment/appointment, employee must meet the DoD directed civilian financial management certifications for the finance positions within two years of initial hire date or promotion appointment date.
Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience gained through work within similar financial program structures that support the series' occupational functions, basic principles, and procedural concepts.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have t least three months of basic finance program training or competencies that provided knowledge of financial principles and procedures. Applicant should have successfully completed the military finance program technical training school and have finance program experiences along with competencies that provided knowledge of financial principles and procedures. Must have experiences and training that demonstrate the abilities to follow directions, to read, retain, and understand a variety of instructions, regulations, policies and procedures. Must have the specialized experiences in providing analysis, validation, processing and correction of financial transactions.
Members of the finance workforce are required to participate in the Certification Program that directs certification levels and continuous education and training studies. The certification requirements are conditions of continued employment for Title 5 Excepted Service financial management workforce employees. Employees must obtain the appropriate certification levels for their positions within 24 months after initial assignment; and, employees must maintain the positions' continuous training and education studies, as identified for each certification level, during the defined 24 month period.

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience:
To qualify for the National Guard GS-0503 Title 5 Excepted Service positions, on the basis of completed undergraduate or graduate education, the college degree education must be in one of -or- be a combination of the following required disciplines: Accounting, business, finance, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organizational management.
You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
