THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a WG-8852-12 AIRCRAFT INSPECTOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D0393000 in SPMD 4740 and is part of the MO TASMG Shop. APPOINTMENT FACTORS: This is an Indefinite-Reimbursable Excepted Service position. This is a bargaining position. SEE NOTES UNDER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT BELOW.

Duties

Inspects aircraft and components. Inspections include but are not limited to initial, in-process, visual, condition, and final inspections, maintenance operational checks, and accident damage inspections. Reviews and checks aircraft forms and records for accuracy and completeness. Determines maintenance requirements, inspection requirements, and compliance with technical standards. Provides technical assistance and expertise on aircraft maintenance and quality control matters to AVCRAD maintenance and supported units. Must be able to perform the duties of aircraft maintenance positions supporting assigned aircraft. When designated on NGB Flying Status orders, may participate in aerial flights which are defined by applicable Army publications as Maintenance Test Flights. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• This position is authorized to be filled as long as reimbursable funds are available.
• In the event a permanent (Tenure 1 or 2) employee is selected, and is willing to accept the indefinite appointment, that employee will relinquish permanent status.
• Employment can be terminated with a 30 day notice.

• This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Missouri National Guard prior to the effective date of placement.

• Failure to complete management prescribed courses for full-time support personnel within the first year of employment or assignment, may be cause for reassignment or termination.

Qualifications

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Selected candidate will be required to be in a compatible military assignment prior to effective date of placement. Selected candidate must be MOS qualified within 12 months from date of appointment. Maximum Military Grade - SFC (E-7) Enlisted - CMF 15 or 91 Supervisor must verify that selected individual occupies a compatible military position. Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (grade inversion). GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience or training which has provided you with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components; make adjustments and settings according to established specifications; and skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment. WG-12 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 18 months of specialized experience that demonstrates your ability to conduct inspections and evaluations for the purpose of determining the depth and scope of the necessary repair, overhaul and/or modification required to return such aircraft or components to a serviceable condition; determine parts and labor costs and compare against repairable limits; proficient in reading and interpreting complex technical instructions, plans, blueprints, and schematic diagrams; and the ability to evaluate damage, estimate maintenance, parts, and manpower requirements, diagnose malfunctions, and employ testing and inspection techniques.

Education

This job does not have a qualification requirement that allows substitution of education for specialized experience.
