About the Position: Serves as primary point of contact for all facilities, space and building management functions which may include effective and efficient management of a supported USACE Divisional Headquarters Building and building support services.
Duties
Responsible for all functions related to facility and space management for the primary district or laboratory headquarters building.
Conducts analysis of current facilities through reviews of records and physical inspections to collect information such as condition, capacity, current utilization.
Coordinates with other district elements to identify anticipated changes in programs/missions.
Coordinates and arranges for minor/major building alterations to include review for compliance with guidelines.
Inspects contractors work for compliance with plans and specifications, develops punch list of items of work requiring corrective action.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The incumbent must obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience coordinating upward reporting requirements in compliance with the rules, regulations and policies governing utilization and management of government facilities; managing repair and/or alteration type projects in an office building or similar type non-housing building environment; managing facility operations and maintenance according to established procedures; interacting with customers regarding building services issues to assess customer needs and design solutions to meet those needs; and performing administrative functions, such as procurement and budgeting duties, in support of facilities and space management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07)
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Facilities Management, Building Construction, Project Management, Business Administration, etc. (Note: You MUST attach a copy of your validated OFFICIAL or UNOFFCIAL TRANSCRIPTS.)

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
