This position is located at Ellington Field in Houston, Texas within a Military Personnel Flight (MPF) of an Air National Guard (ANG) flying wing. This comprehensive description covers five programs/specialties within the Air National Guard Military Personnel Flight. Texas is one of the 9 states that doesn't have a state income tax.

Duties

Serves as advisory to commanders on assigned unit human resources (HR) programs. Plans, directs, controls and provides advisory services on all aspects of the Career Enhancement program for both Active Guard Reserve (AGR), unit drill status guardsmen, full time technicians and potential members. Plans, directs, and controls all aspects of the human resources employment program. Plans, directs, and controls all aspects of the Relocation program for all members. Ensures accuracy of human resources data system and performs functional review of data reliability relative to the relocations program. Develops wing readiness plans for the administration of contingencies and mobilizations. Manages contingency and exercise deployments. Manages Deployment Systems. Is responsible to the Military Support Flight Commander for the Personnel Support for Contingency Operations (PERSCO) portion of the Status of Resources and Training System (SORTS) Report. Serves as Classified Control Officer responsible for safeguarding and proper destruction of classified material IAW AF instructions, higher headquarters and local guidance. Qualifications

Specialized Experience Do you have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-07 level or the equivalent which provided a basic working knowledge of National Guard missions, organizations, and personnel programs. AND Must have a basic knowledge and experiences of personnel programs gained in a classroom or as an on-the-job trainee. AND Have knowledge-based competency of human resources business elements and can discuss terminology, concepts, principles, and issues related to this competency. AND Experienced in using references and resource materials and experienced in program functions such as, maintaining personnel records, counseling, or classification and assignments. AND Experiences may include performing personnel functions associated with preparing and maintaining position descriptions and manual records, personnel classification or usage, quality force management, managing personnel records and researching record data. AND Experienced in operating a computer and using varied computer programs.

Education

Must have a high school diploma or a general education development (GED) diploma. An undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university is optimum.
