About the Position: The U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY is an academic institution located in the Hudson River Valley, 50 miles from New York City. The historic site is the oldest continuously occupied military post in America. West Point is a self-contained city with housing, a Department of Public Works, libraries, hospital, fire department, chapels, and restaurants. Employees have access to Eisenhower Hall Theater, Hudson Valley's performing arts center, and recreational facilities.
Duties
Serves as the Supervisory Program Analyst and Senior Technical Consultant to the Business Operation and Integration Division (BOID) Chief.
Provides advice and assistance to all garrison managers/supervisors in resolving workforce planning, recruitment and hiring challenges.
Conducts analysis of business improvements and organizational structures and processes.
Develops plans and policies to achieve the maximum efficiency level of processing personnel actions within the Garrison.
Oversee garrison workforce management board and performance awards review board.
Supervises staff and carries out personnel management responsibilities to ensure productivity and efficient uses of resources.
Monitors, tracks, and executes guidance on employee performance appraisal processing.
Monitors and tracks Garrison employee on-the-job work injuries; liaisons with Civilian Personnel Advisory Center FECA Coordinator and Safety Office on injuries.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) or Business Travel is up to 10%.
