THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2240P01 and is part of the NC ANG, National Guard (ANG -145th AW/ Positions 01071696).

Duties

As a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC (TITLE 32), WG-2610-13, you will perform maintenance on multi-complex electronic integrated systems; complete operational checks, inspections, tests, trouble shooting, removal and replacement of Line Replaceable Units; isolate unusual malfunctions; solve complex problems by analyzing installation, circuitry, and operating characteristics of the systems; adjust and align system sensors, transmitters, amplifiers, power supplies, display devices, controls, transponders, actuators, servos, computers and other related components; install serviceable components into aircraft and perform systems alignment and harmonization; accomplish technical order compliances, modification of components/ systems and system checks; maintain, modify, calibrate and inspect user test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment; install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, align, and calibrate electronic avionics multi-systems control; evaluate operational characteristics of the integrated systems; analyze malfunctions encountered through fault codes, determine repair sequence process and perform the repairs; review and analyze maintenance data; determine if criteria are sufficient to provide test, troubleshooting and repair procedures; devise and recommend tests, procedural changes, or data corrections; align, adjust, and perform final calibrations on integrated systems to determine successful repairs; analyze equipment failure and malfunctions; monitor operation of complex, interrelated systems, analyze operating trends, propose preventative maintenance down time, and recommend components for overhaul or engineering evaluation for disposal; apply technical data and equipment specifications to determine the impact that equipment modifications or substitutions will have upon integrated multi-system operations and various maintenance alignment procedures; install, operate, and repair prototype or experimental electronic systems; advise Aerospace Engineering personnel on the operation and maintenance effects of proposed Time Compliance Technical Orders modifications on equipment; troubleshoot operational malfunctions and analyze system performance utilizing aircrew debrief data, Technical Orders, schematic and wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, data analysis, common and system-specific test equipment and built in system tests; perform on and off-equipment maintenance on systems; coordinate back shop bench check ; use test equipment such as automatic test equipment, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, phase-angle voltmeters, optical alignment equipment, digital pitot-static testers, programming units and special purpose test analyzers; test and troubleshoot solid state electronic assemblies and subassemblies; identify faulty parts and repair to level authorized; reassemble unit after repair, perform alignment and make shop checks; recommend methods to improve equipment performance, technical data, and maintenance procedures; conduct aircrew debriefing to determine the nature of system malfunctions; document discrepancies and maintenance actions performed by inputting information into the electronic records information systems; recommend hardware and software changes; submit change recommendations to Technical Orders. Requisitions supply assets and process repairable assets in accordance with Standard Base Supply System requirements; document maintenance actions in aircraft forms and documents man-hour expenditures and maintenance actions in the maintenance computer system; maintain Electronic Warfare (if applicable) and analysis equipment such as infrared/radar warning equipment, infrared/radar jamming equipment, chaff/flare dispensing systems, signal analysis equipment, recorders, direction finders, and special purpose test equipment; accomplish organizational and intermediate level modifications; configure complex aircraft ECM equipment (if applicable) to meet critical mission requirements; perform component alignment and calibration to ensure proper system operation; perform flight operational test, adjust or replace units or components; conduct aircrew debriefings to analyze maintenance problems and determine the nature of required modifications; upload and download chaff/flare dispensers; conduct on-the-job training on assigned systems and related support equipment and tasks to include classroom instruction as necessary; provide training to lower graded personnel concerned with the repair of integrated avionics systems; provide training to newly assigned personnel regardless of grade level; prepare for and participate in Aerospace Expeditionary Force tasking, deployments and various inspections and exercises; process and account for due-in from maintenance supply assets; perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Military Rank: Enlisted (SSgt/E5 and below) GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Mandatory military education requirements are the completion of an Air Force Seven Skill Level Technical Training School and awarded a compatible Seven Skill Level AFSC, along with the successful completion of at least one military professional education course program. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have at least 12 months of specialized experiences working as an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic at the WG-2610-12 level, and must possess the craftsman level of knowledge and skills to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. Experiences included the ability and skills to perform on-or off-equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on systems such as, automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigation systems. Experienced in performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on one or more multi-complex electronic integrated systems. Experiences included completing operational checks, inspections, tests, trouble shooting, removal and replacement of line-replaceable-units which are linked with integrated systems and line-replaceable-units which are independent or associated with nonintegrated systems. Must have skilled capabilities of isolating unusual malfunctions using technical orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, tools, and test equipment including automatic test equipment and flight line test systems. Skilled in solving complex problems by analyzing installation, circuitry, and operating characteristics of the systems. Experiences involved adjusting and aligning system sensors, transmitters, amplifiers, power supplies, display devices, controls, transponders, actuators, servos, computers and other related components. Skilled in the installation of serviceable components into aircraft and performed total systems alignment and harmonization in accordance with existing technical orders and directives. Experienced and skilled in completing technical order compliances, completing component and system modifications, and performing thorough system checks for correct operations. Skilled in maintaining, modifying, calibrating, and inspecting a wide variety of user test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment. Experienced in performing installations, modifications, overhauling, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, rebuilding, aligning, and calibrating complete electronic avionics multi-system controls. Must have a thorough working knowledge of complex aircraft avionics or electronic circuit maintenance systems such as, the electronics package in highly automated aircraft where the integrated flight and integrated countermeasures system, electronic multiplex communications bus, inertial navigation system, multi-function displays, head-up display, data transfer equipment, global positioning system, situation awareness data-link, data modem, flight control system, pivot-static system and related instrumentation, flight director instrumentation, central air data computer, engine, hydraulic and fuel quantity indicating systems, voice message warning, various modes of data, intercom, secure voice communications, identification friend or foe, and tactical air navigation system. Experienced in evaluating operational characteristics of the integrated systems by observing and analyzing waveforms, voltage, current, power indications, computer registers and printouts. Skilled in analyzing the malfunctions encountered through fault codes, determining repair sequence process and performing required repairs. Experiences involved reviewing and analyzing maintenance data; determines if criteria are sufficient to provide adequate test, troubleshooting and repair procedures; devises and recommends tests, procedural changes, or data corrections. Skilled in performing alignments, adjustments, and conducting final calibrations on integrated systems to determine successful repairs. Experienced in monitoring the operations of complex, inter-related systems, analyzing operating trends, and proposing preventative maintenance down time. Skilled in the applications of technical data and equipment specifications that determine the impact equipment modifications or substitutions on integrated multi-system operations and various maintenance alignment procedures. Competent in using algebraic and trigonometric functions to adapt standard formulas to the specific requirements of the integrated system. Experiences involved the installation, operation, and repair work on prototypes or experimental electronic systems such as, inertial navigation or automatic flight control. Competent in advising aerospace engineering personnel on the operation and maintenance effects of proposed time compliance technical orders' modifications on new or existing equipment.
