You will serve as a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC LEADER in the Public Works Division of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will explain procedures, policies, written instructions, or other directives to others performing maintenance work. You will interpret instructions, sketches, blueprints, and building codes to decide the work methods or process best suited to complete the project. You will interpret blueprints or sketches in a group setting to determine specific work requirements for each team member. You will instruct trades and labor workers of technical principles, procedures, or standards required for safe operations. • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• May be required to work at a job site or location other than the permanently assigned location.
• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including rotating shifts, overtime, nights, weekends, holidays and/or be "called back" to meet mission requirements.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
