You will serve as a Toolmaker in the Tooling and Fabrication Shop in the Facility & Plant Maintenance Division of FLTREADCEN EAST.
Duties
You will determine heat treatment of steel, allowances for fits, and gearing and screw thread sizes to complete assigned tasks.
You will perform handwork (e.g., filing, scraping, grinding, lapping) to finish and assemble it.
You will use blueprints, sketches, plans, or technical manuals to determine the sequence of toolmaking operations in component disassembly and assembly.
You will interpret data obtained from multi-axis optical, mechanical, or electronic measuring devices.
You will set up and operate jig borers, jig grinders, internal and external grinders, or electrical discharge machines to manufacture, overhaul, and repair tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, molds, and gages.
Requirements
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
