Duties
Serves as a project officer in the Health Communication Science Division.
Coordinates the prioritization of health issues that need to be addressed.
Tracks important public health/preventive medicine issues and coordinates creation of periodic reports on the status of
those issues and identifies the need to update previously developed materials.
Serves as a technical advisor, and consultant in assigned areas of responsibility and expertise to personnel within DCPH-A, Defense Public Health, DHA, Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs).
Assists the Chief, Health Communication Science Division by coordinating interaction with programs under the Director of the Defense Health Agency - Public Health.

Basic Education Requirements GS 12: Degree: Bachelor's or graduate (or higher level) degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes: assisting with gathering medical information on health threats; developing public health communication products; and providing advice on health risk issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service for (GS-11).
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
