Due to the nature of work in this position the incumbent will serve in an "on call" duty status outside of normal work hours that includes remaining in a reasonable call back radius carrying a cell phone or regularly checking email to respond to emergencies remaining in a state of readiness to perform work with limitations on pursuing outside leisure activities and/or reporting to a designated post of duty to be ready to or perform work.

Duties

Serves as Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) and 24/7 single point of contact for coordinating victim care and ensuring victims receive appropriate and responsive care. Establishes local procedures and policies regarding the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) in accordance with agency procedures and DoD SAPR policies. Provides policy, guidance, and information for victims of sexual assault, directors, first responders, and those who seek to prevent or respond to sexual assaults. Assists victims of sexual assault in their effort towards the process of recovery through advocacy, crisis intervention, and available resources. Ensures sexual assault victim advocacy and/or professional services are available to individuals, victims, or survivors of sexual assault, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, both on and off the installation. Facilitates or assists in the planning, scheduling, and delivery of sexual assault prevention and response training for agency personnel, leadership, and stakeholders, including SAPR annual refresher training. Promotes awareness of sexual assault prevention in the community by performing outreach activities and coordinates with service providers and military SARCs to provide effective short and long-term advocacy.

  • Licenses/Certifications: Required - National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA) certification credentialing as required through the DoD Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Credentialing Program (D-SAACP).
  • Licenses/Certifications: The NOVA National Advocate Credentialing Program (NACP) equivalency is accepted and must be current.
  • This position is located at JQ-DD and this announcement may be used to fill future vacancies at DLA Distribution Headquarters in New Cumberland, PA.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain licenses and/or certifications required by the installation, federal, state, and local laws.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Sexual Assault Response Coordinator your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Basic Requirement: A Bachelor's Degree or higher in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. Applicants MUST submit a copy of their official college transcripts from an accredited educational institution which reflects that a behavioral or social science, or equivalent degree was conferred and the date conferred. OR A combination of education and experience that provided the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. Applicants MUST submit a copy of their official college transcripts from an accredited educational institution. Failure to submit your transcripts may result in lost consideration. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates the acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. B. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Administering a sexual assault prevention and response program; Advising management on policies and procedures related to sexual assault prevention and response; Providing victims of sexual assault assistance, guidance, and professional resources; and Assisting with developing and delivering training programs related to sexual assault and prevention. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
