The Division of Administration (DA) directs the innovative internal management of the Commission’s business, personnel, financial, technological, security, and strategic operational resources.  The Division’s role is to effectively and efficiently ensure the fulfillment of the Commission’s mission through continued success in continuity of operations, while providing the required resources for adaptation to regulating the ever-changing markets.

Duties

This position is located in the Cybersecurity Unit, Cyber and Physical Security Branch, within the Division of Administration at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC or Commission).  This position has promotion potential to the CT-13 level. The main difference between the CT-13 and CT-09 levels is the knowledge required, supervisory controls, and the complexity of the work assignments.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT: Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. OR Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph above, plus additional education or appropriate experience. In addition to the Basic Requirement, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the CT/GS-07 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through federal service. CT-09 Level: To qualify for the CT-09 level you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS/CT-07 level).  Specialized experience is defined that through which one has gained experience: Experience working with data life cycle capabilities; Experience applying scientific and analytical techniques to develop computational algorithms; and Experience utilizing software such as Agile, R, Python, MATLAB, SQL, Tableau, PowerBI to analyze data sets. OR A master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in a related field OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in a related field
