Serves as a Transportation Assistant in the Veterans Transportation Service (VTS) located at the Northern Indiana Healthcare System, Mishawaka, IN.

Duties

Consult management, appointment scheduling and admissions scheduling. Evaluate documents, e.g., sampling plans, permit applications and other data collection forms. Maintain automated system of program-specific data to track items such as service project milestones, progress reports, program trends, performance measures, compliance strategies, etc. Independently manage the Beneficiary Travel Program. Determine method of payment for authorized and unauthorized ambulance claims submitted for consideration. Forward all invoices certified for payment for processing. Plan and direct programs that provide support services functions and require the application of specialized knowledge and skills. Work Schedule: Fulltime; Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS 5) in Federal Service that includes performing the following duties: collecting, compiling, and tracking data and statistical information; evaluating documents, e.g., sampling plans, permit applications and other data collection forms; coordinating service practices that decrease waits and delays; maintaining manual and electronic accounting records, performing regular reconciliations, and adjusting account balances; determine method of payment for authorized and unauthorized ambulance claims submitted for consideration; reconciles vouchers against authorizations for accuracy prior to preparing certifications for payment; provides advice to operating managers and supervisors on how provided services assist in accomplishing their missions and programs (Resume(s) must clearly support the duties and experience required for this position. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
