You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT in the JUDGE ADVOCATE GENERAL of DSO WEST.

Duties

You will assist the Administrative Officer (AO) by performing various administrative and clerical duties in support of the command mission. You will procure supplies, equipment, and furniture and assists staff in obtaining supplies. You will perform the necessary research required to obtain a quote from an authorized vendor. You will provide bi-monthly budget reports to the commanding officer on the status of funding balances. You will serve as the critical link between the military member, the command, and the supporting personnel support organization.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as: 1) Administering administrative operations and civilian and/or military programs to comply with guidelines and requirements; 2) Providing clerical and administrative support to senior management; 3) Assisting in finding solutions to arising issues that impact jobs and employees; 4) Planning resource needs, cost tracking, budgeting, and personnel tracking for the operation of a geographically dispersed department. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement
OR

OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Your percentage of the required education plus your percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
