Duties

Enterprise Architecture Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive enterprise architecture strategy that aligns with the organization's overall business objectives and long-term vision. Continuously assess and update the strategy to accommodate evolving technology trends and business requirements. Technology Roadmap: Define and maintain a technology roadmap that outlines the evolution of our IT infrastructure, applications, and services. Ensure that the roadmap addresses the organization's current and future needs while enabling agility and adaptability. Architecture Governance: Establish and enforce architecture governance processes to ensure that technology solutions are designed, implemented, and maintained according to industry best practices, standards, and security guidelines. Data Governance: Establish, maintain and enforce a data governance model that supports current and future requirements of the organization. Business Alignment: Collaborate closely with business leaders and stakeholders to understand their objectives, challenges, and opportunities. Translate business needs into actionable technology solutions and ensure that IT initiatives support and enhance business processes. Technology Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices. Champion innovation and identify opportunities to leverage new technologies to drive business value and competitive advantage. IT Security and Risk Management: Work with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and IT security teams to embed security into the enterprise architecture. Identify and mitigate technology-related risks to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulations. Develop and implement risk strategy, risk governance, risk management, risk quantification and inter-dependencies to achieve DAU strategy. Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with executives, business leaders, IT teams, and vendors to gain buy-in for architectural decisions and foster collaboration across the organization. Vendor and Solution Evaluation: Assess third-party technologies, tools, and solutions to determine their suitability for the organization's needs. Recommend and implement solutions that align with the enterprise architecture. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the enterprise architecture team. Foster a culture of innovation, continuous earning, and professional development within the team.

  • Incumbent may be required to obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance.

  • The incumbent of this position may be required to work overtime, irregular shifts, and/or on the weekend.
  • Work may require travel away from the normal duty station on commercial aircraft.

Qualifications

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS: General education and/or experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for Information Technology (IT) Management series (Alt A) positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband, NH-03 (Gs-13), equivalent to the next lower grade, GS-12 or equivalent, in other personnel pay systems including. Extensive experience in IT architecture, enterprise architecture, and technology strategy, with at least 5 years in lead role. Proven expertise in defining and implementing enterprise architecture frameworks, methodologies, and governance practices. Quality Ranking Factors: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Experience defining and implementing enterprise architecture frameworks, methodologies, and governance practices. Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging technologies, cloud solutions, data management, and application integration. Demonstrated ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Expertise in scrum/agile development methodologies. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
