This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This position is with the Army Reserve Aviation Command, Aviation Support Facility MacDill Air Force Base East located in MacDill Air Force Base, Florida.
Duties
Perform full range of testing procedures on complex avionic systems
Use a variety of complex test equipment
Maintain electrical power control systems
Document maintenance actions
Research technical aids

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- THIS POSITION REQUIRES ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP AS A SOLDIER IN THE U.S. ARMY RESERVE (USAR).
- This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
- This position is subject to Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electronic Intergrated Systems Mechanic without more than normal supervision. To meet the screen out element, applicants should document experience or show the ability to do the following: conduct inspections of electrical equipment, use test equipment to diagnose malfunctions, troubleshoot to determine cause of malfunction, and complete repairs of electrical equipment using hand and power tools. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Physical effort: Must be able to stand for long periods of time; or endure recurring activities such as bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, and reaching. Must possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
Working Conditions: Work is performed inside shops, aircraft, or outside in good weather conditions. Exposed to potentially high voltage, aircraft rotors, RF and IR radiation and high intensity noises. Fumes, solvents, dirt, dust, grease, and oil are normally present. Danger of the possibility of cuts, burns, shocks, strains, falls, and eye or skin irritations is possible.
