This position is located in the Manufacturing Department, Plant & Engineering Section, Facility Engineering & Maintenance Branch. You will fabricate, install, modify, and troubleshoot specialized electrical control or monitoring systems and equipment that are regularly subjected to extreme demands for accuracy of control motion, load sensing, pressure and pressure distortions.
Duties
As an Electrician, you will:
Install, modify or repair electrical machinery and wiring controls for elevators, hydraulic lift systems, refrigeration and heating systems, emergency warning systems, fire extinguishing systems, and timing and recording devices.
Install, maintain and repair electric wiring systems, related switches, distribution panels and outlet boxes, as well as a wide variety of electrical fixtures, tools and appliances.
Work from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering sketches, and maintenance and repair manuals to plan and layout the routing placement, type, size gauge, balance, load, continuity and proper and safe operating of 120 volt to 480 volt electrical lines, circuits, systems, equipment, and controls.
Inspect, maintain, clean, repair, test and adjust electrical buzzer and bell circuits, light sockets, receptacles, lighting fixtures, fans, switches, circuit breakers, office heating appliances, fire alarms, clocks, rheostats, thermostats, electrical drills, grinders, and shop equipment.
Test circuits and equipment by use of voltmeters, amp meters, watt meters, meggars and ohmmeters, measures, cuts, threads, bends, assembles and installs conduits, inserting, splicing and connecting wires to fixtures, outlets, switches, receptacles and power sources, install indoor and outdoor conduits, and electrical wiring and light and power circuits.
