THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ALLIED TRADES SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1221000 and is part of the IL CSMS 1, National Guard.

Duties

As a ALLIED TRADES SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), WS-3401-10, you will be responsible for supervising workers directly or through subordinate leaders and/or supervisors in accomplishing the work of the function. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Plan use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plan work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor. Determine the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects. Inform the supervisor of the need to revise work schedules and re-estimate labor and other resources. Investigate work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes. Implement corrective actions to resolve work problems. Recommend solutions to staffing problems, engineering requirements, and work operations directed by other supervisors. Prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, and mobilization and command support exercises. Plans and establish overall leave schedules. Determine training needs of subordinates and arrange for accomplishment. Set performance standards, and make formal appraisals of subordinate work performance. Implement regulatory safety requirements and ensure that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code ? 709), will be in the following manner and sequence, The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees. The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible. The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership. The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens. Military Grades: Warrant Officer - Minimum Rank WO1 - Maximum Rank CW4 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience or training which demonstrates the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs, explain manuals and work procedures, prepare production records, work records and reports. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WS-10 Level- Must possess specialized experience which includes, in addition to the journeyman level knowledge, at least 36 months experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel; Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines; Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. SPECIALIZED SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE: MUST possess specialized experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes; Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
