The Electrician, will be assigned to the Maintenance and Repair section at the Northern California Health Care System site in Martinez, CA, however, the position also entails traveling to other VANCHCS sites supporting our Outpatient Clinics at Mare Island, Oakland and Fairfield. The incumbent performs the duties of a journeyman electrician under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.

Duties

Major duties include, but are not limited to the following: Perform installation, maintenance, and/or repair of utility system (i.e., generators, switch gear, controls, circuit breakers) within a facility. Maintains controls for equipment in industrial , institutional, office, and residential building. Performs work under own responsibility in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical wiring systems and associated Fixtures, controls, and equipment in industrial, institutional, office and residential buildings. Work Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm Position Description Title/PD#: Electrician/PD8096-A Physical Requirements: Work requires walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries parts and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally handles items weighing up to 100 Pounds. Personal assistance and/or lifting devices are used when appropriate to prevent injury.
