This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration Digitization Division. Incumbent performs non-professional, quasi-professional, and technical work that supports access to archival holdings and physical and intellectual control over records. The work encompasses the full range of archival support services to include but not limited to: reference, researcher assistance, archival arrangement and descriptions, digitizing, and reformatting of records.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-05 grade level is defined as one year of experience at the GS-04 grade level, or equivalent, that is typically in or related to the position and which equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience: Experience using scanning equipment and/or preparing documents for digitization by creating metadata or reformatting records. AND Experience following and referencing archival policy and procedures, such as monitoring, pulling and refiling records, reference, arrangement and description, and holdings maintenance. OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: 4 years above high school. OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. NOTE: Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable (as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F): Advancement to positions up to GS-5: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-05 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment.
