About the Position: The incumbent provides the planning, directing, managing, coordinating, and evaluating of integrated Information Management (IM), Information Technology (IT), and Command and Control, Communications and Computers (C4) services and support to the FORSCOM unit. The position is assigned to the G-6, 1st Division, Fort Riley, KS.

Duties

Coordinate with FORSCOM units with operational Command and Control, Communications and Computers (C4) and Information Management (IM) requirements. Consider innovations and new approaches as to feasibility, compatibility with existing systems and the probably long-term effects. Negotiate programs, policies, and controversial issues of significant impact on support organization information systems. Serve as the strategic partner for IT coordination between FORSCOM units and the NEC/Installation Directorate of Information Management (DOIM). Provide authoritative program-related advice, information and guidance regarding current and future information systems concepts, doctrine, methods, practices, operations and technologies to all FORSCOM units on the installation. Participate in meetings, conferences, planning, and studies to identify and resolve major C4/IT interoperability issues and requirements. Coordinate IT resources and requirements for FORSCOM units such as life cycle replacements. Coordinate and manage Life Cycle replacement for FORSCOM units. Direct and coordinate the work carried out by administrative and/or technical personnel. Oversee the work assigned to subordinates, setting priorities, and evaluating work performance.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must obtain and then continue to maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance.
  • Incumbent may be required to work unscheduled overtime.
  • Incumbent may be required to work other than normal duty hours which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Performs temporary duty travel (TDY) in connection with duties. 35%
  • Required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I ) upon entering the position and annually, IAW DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dt. 17-Nov-2011.
  • Permanent Change of Station (PCS) Expenses may be authorized.
  • Recruitment/Relocation/Retention Incentive may be authorized.
  • Student Loan Repayment may be authorized.
  • This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R "Condition of Employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the drug abuse testing program".
  • Incumbent may be required to serve a supervisory probationary period.
  • Incumbent is required to obtain and then continue to maintain industry certification of Security+ CE.
