Duty Location to be based in San Francisco, CA or Seattle, WA. Pay to be set based on the locality pay area of the Duty Location.

Office of Labor Management Standards administers certain provisions of the LMRDA of 1959 which primarily establishes standards for private sector labor organization democracy and financial integrity, and requires reporting and public disclosure of labor reports.
This position is outside the bargaining unit.
Duties
Assigns work on the basis of complexity, instructs and guides employees concerning the completion of assignments, resolves grievance for employees under his/her supervision, and advise the Director of the Office of Field Operations concerning staff promotions and performance awards.
Participates in the development of strategic and operational plans, goals, objectives and priorities.
Communicate orally with government officials from DOL and other agencies, including from the U.S. Attorney's office; high-ranking union officials, including intermediate and nation union officers; and union attorneys.
Communicates in writing in order to prepare reports and respond to written inquiries, such as press and media inquiries regarding matters within the office jurisdiction and Congressional inquiries and briefings.
Provides continuous oversight and extensive coordination efforts involving numerous, ongoing investigations, investigative audits, and other related program activity by individual investigators and project teams.
Initiates contacts and maintains effective working relationships with other agencies with other agencies, including Federal and local enforcement agencies, to assist in successful coordinated completion of the OLMS mission within an assigned geographic jurisdiction.

Qualifications
You must meet the Specialized Experience to qualify for Supervisory Investigator-District Director, as described below.
For GS-15: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level GS-14 in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.

Specialized experience is defined as experience in a civil/criminal investigation position that required the responsibility to research issues, elicit specific information, and conduct civil and/or criminal enforcement matters and/or responsibility in accessing and developing agency enforcement strategies and programs.
Education
There is no substitution of education at the GS 15 level.
