The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the Operations Support Branch (J362) of the Mission Assurance Division (J36).
Duties
Leads subject matter expert (SME) team members in defining and implementing a portfolio of diverse, but related, efforts to optimize cyber resiliency across the DODIN and Defense Critical Infrastructure.
Provides recognized personal expertise and leverages the team's collective expertise in identifying and analyzing cyber defense requirements across the DoD Information Network (DODIN), including Defense Critical Infrastructure supporting defense critical missions (DCM).
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities for personnel assigned to the Branch. As a first level supervisor, directs and coordinates the work of assigned personnel.
Leads development of policy, plans, orders, and cyber warfare publications.

- The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET SCI clearance as a condition of employment and must complete a counterintelligence scope polygraph exam.
- The incumbent must meet NSA personnel security requirements outlined in NSA/CSS Policy 5-1.
- Incumbent must possess or obtain an IAM3 professional certification as an Information Assurance (IA) professional, consistent with requirements detailed in DODD 8140.01, DOD 8570.1-M, and USCCI 1200-04.
Qualifications
This is a GG-13 position in the Cyber Excepted Service (CES). The GG-13 duties for the "Supervision/Management" work category are at the "Senior" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Information Technology (IT) Management Series, 2210 (Alternative A)
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriateGS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: ability to apply knowledge of Information Security (INFOSEC) concepts, practices, and tools to the design/development, implementation, and application of IT capabilities supporting full spectrum cyber operations: Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private Sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Ability to apply knowledge of Information Security (INFOSEC) concepts, practices, and tools to the design/development, implementation, and application of IT capabilities supporting full spectrum cyber operations.
Ability to apply knowledge of Mission Assurance (MA) concepts, methods, and tools to devise and implement strategies, policies, processes, and programs to assess program performance and risks, and identify and resolve issues.
Knowledge of and skill in interpreting and applying DoD and Joint Staff policies and standards governing the planning and conduct of cybersecurity inspections/assessments, including ability to use findings to recommend corrective actions.
Ability to define certification and accreditation (C&A) standards and training to assure the readiness of DoD Cyber Red Teams to identify vulnerabilities that impact the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of DoD IT systems.
Ability to apply IT project planning and management skills to lead/integrate efforts to implement the MA construct and conduct other supporting functions, like inspections/assessments and provision of guidance to operational and project teams.
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. Ability to inspire, motivate, and guide others toward goal accomplishment; mentor and challenge subordinates; adapt leadership style to a variety of situations; and model high standards of honesty, integrity, trust, openness, and respect for the individual; ability to communicate complex technical and programmatic information, often in the form of verbal and visual operational updates, situation reports, and briefings.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED:
This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. Therefore, incumbent is required to: (a) refrain from the use of illegal drugs, and (b) if requested, submit to urinalysis testing. Incumbent may be selected for random drug testing and may be subject to reasonable suspicion testing and safety mishap or accident testing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
