About the position: This position will be assigned to the Arts & Crafts Center on Travis Air Force Base, CA. The work involves moderate to heavy physical effort, occasional lifting and carrying items unassisted weighing up to 50lbs. Duties

Plans the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials, and tools needed to accomplish the work. Plans, schedules, and coordinates work operations while adhering to work priorities, project schedules, resources, and work plans. Maintain NAF Vehicle fleet utilizing Service Agency Information System (SAIS), Vehicle Management System to input and track vehicle data. Duties include but not limited to maintaining vehicle records jackets, schedule each vehicle for at least 3 scheduled maintenance preventive maintenance inspection (PMI), an annual safety inspection. and oil changes. Electric and some other specialty vehicle types only require a PMI and annual safety inspection. All non-motor vehicles that are either driven or towed on roads must have their maintenance scheduled and tracked. Report suspected vehicle abuse and unreported accident damage to the unit Vehicle Control Officer. Schedule vehicle repairs when using activities report for vehicle problems. Prepares budget, analyzes financial results, and maintains solid financial condition of the facility. Manages real property resources and provides expert advice on renovations. improvements, minor and major construction. Assigns, directs, and reviews the work of subordinates. Observes work in progress, resolving problems and making adjustments as necessary to meet schedules. Inspects completed work for quantity and quality of work performed. Explains and gains the support of subordinates for management policy. programs. and goals. Hires, promotes, motivates, disciplines, and separates subordinates. Approves/disapproves leave schedules and/or other absences from work. Supports the objectives of AF-wide programs and policies such as labor-management relations and equal employment opportunity. Advises and counsel subordinates on improving performance. Investigates grievances and complaints and ensures safety and maintenance practices are observed. May perform automotive mechanic duties. Functions as the Assistant Skills Center Director in the absence of the Director or the Assistant Director. Qualifying Experience: Experience in the maintenance and repair of diesel and gasoline powered engines which includes the full range of repairing, disassembling, troubleshooting, and overhauling of these engines, and provided all of the following: Knowledge of the makeup, operation, and installation of complex major systems and assemblies to troubleshoot and repair a variety of systems or to rebuild one or more systems; knowledge of test and troubleshoot components and systems to located equipment defect. Must have supervisory experience.
