This position will be assigned to the Air Force Shared Services Center in San Antonio, Texas.
This is a regular full-time category position with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits.
Duties
Works in the NAF SSC, Expenditures Division, Payroll Branch (SVISEP)
Leads workflow and performs payroll processed through use of the Oracle 11 i-payroll system. Using the Oracle 11i payroll timekeeping and HR modules, establishes and maintains individual pay records, determines pay due and applicable withholdings, verifies all pay action documents, processes payroll checks, and completes all related reports. Using the fully automated capabilities of the Oracle 11 i payroll, human resource, time management, and accounting modules, classifies and verifies a wide variety of payroll documents in order to assure their mathematical correctness, completeness of information, and to prepare/validate the system control sheets with appropriate payroll codes. Traces discrepancies, if necessary, to posting documents, computes operational expenses incurred by individual activities for payroll services provided, and assigns charges appropriately. Reports prepared may include payroll statements, leave and earning statements, financial statements, and miscellaneous payroll reporting data.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Experience in the full range of accounts payable processing for a wide variety of payment actions requiring a wide range of federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and instructions with little technical supervision. Experience in the accounts payable function. Experience in training methods and preparation of training briefing materials. Experience in the interrelationship of payroll processes and procedures, and an understanding of the relationship between the general ledger and payroll accounts. Experience working with MS Office application software to produce a wide range of office documents.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Typing and data entry keypad skills.
Experience with accounting practices and procedures.
Knowledge of employee tax documentation, and customer service concepts.
Skills and Knowledge with commercial accounting software.
